The research conducted by Global Research provided us with valuable insights into the community’s perceptions and reactions to our developing cycleway network. Global’s strength was in the efficient, timely and positive engagement processes it achieved with the community in a challenging environment The findings were presented in an informative manner, allowing us to make more informed decisions towards refining and improving our communications and infrastructure for providing safer cycling transport options for more trips for more people.
— Michael Ferigo, Transport Planner Sustainable Transport | Christchurch City Council
“The feedback Wellington City Council staff had was really positive. They were most happy with the quality of the presentation and the themes identified were communicated really effectively. It was quickly decided that the insights provided by the report should be communicated more widely, and used in multiple council processes, rather than just for the planning around the LTP.

One thing that stood out to me was that the style of writing/presentation was able to be well understood not only by my colleagues in the research space, but also by those in planning, policy and strategy. This speaks to how well the LTP report was able to bridge the gap between policy and science/evidence.”
— Liam Daly, Research and Evaluation Advisor | Wellington City Council
Global Research has helped City of Melbourne with over 13 projects over the last four years. Their commitment to reading, understanding and analysing every word and sentiment shared by the community ensures everyone is heard and nothing is missed.

Their reports provide high quality, easy-to-understand summaries, visual representations and quotes. These reports are well regarded by staff and Councillors, and have consistently influenced the direction of our work and improved Council decision making.

The reports are often published on our online platform and community can see how their input has influenced projects and policies.
— Georgie Meyer, Team Leader Community Engagement | Community and City Services | City of Melbourne
Global Research led a series of in person workshops with rangatahi throughout Christchurch to understand what a quality physical activity experience was to them to. They ensured that the workshops were tailored to the participants and each session was engaging and interactive. The findings from the workshops have informed how Sport Canterbury works with (and supports organisations that work with) rangatahi. We have shared the insights across the sector with the aim of improving the quality of physical experiences for rangatahi.
— Jason Merrett, General Manager Participation Pathways, Sport Canterbury
Global Research has undertaken several research projects for BRANZ. A key quality of Global Research is how they add value throughout the research process from advice on data collection methods, to recruitment strategies and data analysis.

Global Research has undertaken a range of different kinds of research such as survey design and implementation, focus groups, and one-on-one semi structured interviews. Global Research always managed to deliver the number of people required and always found people with the exact demographic and expertise we wanted to hear from. This has ranged from general consumers to a broad range of building industry professionals across the architectural, government, banking, construction and real estate sectors...

Global Research has consistently delivered in an expert and nuanced way, detailed reports based on qualitative and quantitative data analysis which enabled us to gain clear direction from the findings.

Global Research’s work has enabled us to create several outputs from research reports to building industry resources and technical seminars.
— Casimir MacGregor, PhD, DPH, Senior Social Scientist, BRANZ
Patrick, Naomi and the Global Research Team are great to work alongside. The team understands the messiness of analysing personalised responses and the importance of transparently reporting the sentiment expressed in community consultations. By working collaboratively, we identified and refined a coding framework (themes/sub-themes) to analyse multiple datasets of community feedback that were complex and substantial. Once we got started, I was confident that the team would efficiently undertake the data analysis and reporting tasks within the agreed timeframes. I valued the opportunity to meet with the researchers involved in this project and the scaled pricing options were helpful as the volume of feedback was uncertain. I would highly recommend the analysis and reporting support services provided by the Global Research team.
— Robyn Cochrane, Cochrane Research Solutions
Gehl Architects found Global Research to be very professional and dedicated in investigating the survey material. Global Research was flexible and accommodating in terms of deliveries and deadlines, and provided valuable interpretation of the data. The output was well formulated and responded to all our questions, and Global Research were even able to translate replies from Norwegian into English. We are happy to recommend Global Research to others in need of data and survey processing, and look forward to the continued collaboration.
— Camilla van Deurs, Director, Partner, Gehl Architects
Global Research has introduced a system that has allowed us to collate our online feedback along with our written feedback and produce one meaningful report. The satisfaction report allows us to make strategic decisions on how we can continue to improve our guests’ experience. Since engaging Global Research’s services we have been able to listen to our guests in a timely manner and have importantly seen an improvement in our tripadvisor ranking.
— Thomas Patterson, Assistant Manager, Commodore Airport Hotel

— Anthony Cussen, Senior Project Officer, City of Melbourne - Future Melbourne 2026
Working with Global Research to find out where our organisations sits when it comes to brand awareness of New Zealanders year on year is invaluable. We know our activity is working and getting through to the market, and it helps support our strategy. I really appreciate the synopsis of the reports as they compare year on year, and they’re easy to explain to others in the organisation. Then there are the details of the report which we can delve into further. Global research are quick to respond to queries and deliver on time.
— Linda Arnmark, New Zealand Fundraising Manager, Medecins Sans Frontieres
Patrick and his team provided a very thorough and independent review of the Council’s public submissions to the 2018-2028 Long Term Plan (LTP). This required them to review, analyse and present a substantive report, on over 3,300 submissions, covering many topics of significant interest to the community. The final report was very well received by Elected Members and helped to ensure the LTP process was completed within the planned timelines.
— Jacinda Lean, (Acting) General manager, Chief Executive's Group, Tauranga City Council
Global Research came highly recommended because of the work they completed for the Christchurch public engagement campaign, following the earthquake in 2011. Although our project was far smaller, the expertise, timeliness and thoroughness that Global Research brought to our project was of a high quality.

Patrick and his team were able to analyse, qualify and quantify all of our public comments in a very quick manner, presenting a final product that was well received and easy to understand by senior management, the public and decision makers.

Public input into major visioning projects is critically important. Global Research was able to take the input received and situate it as a valuable component in the decision making process.
— Jeremy Bouw, Divisional Strategist, City of Red Deer, (Alberta, Canada) - Integrated Movement Study, Mobility Playbook
Patrick and the team at Global Research provided valuable early advice when we were designing the best approach to consultation, engagement and communication, provided further valuable advice as engagement and communication progressed and provided a quality product at the end to capture everything that was said at workshops and through consultation.

This information was utilised by the planners to further inform decision making, and was very useful given the compressed timeframes for the project.

The processes followed and information gathered was extremely valuable, and has since been tested in the High Court and found to be robust. Under challenge from a land developer, the High Court recently held that “the Minister and UDS partners made admirable efforts to consult, engage and communicate widely as part of the preparation of the LURP”, the work from GR formed a key component of that consultation.
— Stephen Timms , Land Use Recovery Plan - Project Lead, Principal Advisor - Planning, Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) , (Formerly with Environment Canterbury)
The $107.5mil Better Business Case for the rebuild of our scientific facilities was a critical milestone in the restoration of the University following the Canterbury earthquakes. It comes at a time when we look to increase our contribution to New Zealand’s land based industries through establishing the Lincoln Hub. Patrick was part of the multi-disciplinary expert team which prepared our business case. This case was rated one of the best ever received by Government. He delivered a broad range of contributions in research, analysis, coordination and writing, which he adapted to the changing needs of the project. Patrick’s contribution significantly contributed to the success of our case.
— Dr Andrew West, Vice-Chancellor, Lincoln University
We received over a thousand submissions on our draft proposal [Regional Land Transport Plan, RLTP]. Global Research were able to process this significant volume of information in a timely manner and provided a synthesis of submissions that clearly identified the most important issues raised by the community. This proved to be a key piece of analysis when decision-makers made their recommendations on the final Plan.
— Bron Healey, Senior Transport Planner, Bay of Plenty Regional Council Toi Moana
…Patrick’s relaxed personal style and communication skills ensured that the work progressed with the minimum of delays and with the full support of those involved. …They have added considerably to the Department’s understanding of visitors to the areas it manages.
— Mike Edginton, Director, Partnerships, Historic & Visitor - Kaihautū Ao Tuku Iho/Ao Manuhiri, Department of Conservation
GR were engaged to help CERA gather and synthesize public feedback on a draft residential chapter for the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan. Given the volume and breadth of public comments, GRs service proved to be invaluable. All GRs advice, tasks and reporting were delivered in a timely manner and to a high standard.
— Tim Walsh, Senior Advisor, Christchurch Central Development Unit , Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA)
GR was a key enabler in assisting the hub partners with the delivery and documentation of a Plan to set the vision and foundation for the Lincoln Hub. Key attributes they displayed were the ability to synthesise a significant volume of inputs from the five organisations, to organise and structure into an effective framework, in a short timeframe, and to add value to content generation and format, and a real ability to work closely with the customer, all of which added to the quality of the Plan.
— Andrew McSweeney, Shared services director AgResearch
Global Research provided a wealth of knowledge and ideas around the evaluation process that led to the development and implementation of an effective and efficient survey and interview format to gauge the impact of the project across the target audiences. The research report has been shared with key funders such as the Ministry of Justice and ACC as well as being used to help us enhance the SAY Now programme. We look forward to continuing to work with Global Research with the SAY Now project over the coming months.
— Jonny Kirkpatrick, Business Manager, Sport Canterbury
Global Research presented a thoroughly professional and quality report which enabled decision makers to understand the range of complex issues. The information was presented graphically and in written form and was turned around extremely quickly under tight deadlines. Patrick has a great understanding of local government processes and was able to accurately portray this in the report. I would not hesitate to use and recommend Global Research services in the future.
